“There have been two phone calls from residents of Mukhin Street on Saturday, at 11:30 a.m. and 3:11 p.m., saying they had seen a lynx,” Amur Region Division of Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations Press Service told Sputnik. According to the report, a Blagoveshchensk search and rescue team came to the spot twice and inspected the area, but failed to find the lynx.
According to local media outlets, the beast came out of the woods to Erkovtsy village in Ivanovsky District in Amour Region on November 11. It was not afraid of people and ate the meat they gave to it.
In October 2015 residents of Belogorsk, Amur Region’s second largest city, tried to catch a lynx for almost a month.
