Scaffolding Collapse in Raleigh, NC Kills Three Workers

A section of a scaffolding collapsed off a construction project in Raleigh, North Carolina on Monday killing three people, according to emergency officials.

The section of movable scaffolding peeled away and collapsed from an 11-story glass and steel building into a parking lot below. According to Jeffrey Hammerstein, the district chief, three people are confirmed dead and one was sent to the hospital.

Police and fire officials have sealed off the area. State Department of Labor spokesman, Neal O'Brian, said that his agency is investigating the cause of the collapse.
